  1. I was really lucky while BFing. It all came very easily for the whole 18 months with LM. Hopefully when the new one is born in December it'll be just as easy. No secrets from me unfortunately.

  2. It was really hard for me to get the hang of breastfeeding in the beginning- I had to exclusively pump for the first 6 weeks; but one of the indispensable items that allowed me to move from bottle to breast was my Brestfriend pillow. I give credit to the Brestfriend for helping me finally nurse my baby!

  4. Ok...sorry...terrible at reading directions. What helped me to have success in breastfeeding? Definitely patience in myself and my baby. I knew that if I kept with it it would become second nature and thankfully it did! If I had to pick a breastfeeding product that helped the most I have a two-way tie: Boppy pillow and Lansinoh lanolin!
Looking forward to checking out your giveaways! :)

  5. The main thing I think that really helped me with breastfeeding was cosleeping. If I hadn't been able to nurse while laying down I may have given up. As of 8/2 we will have been breastfeeding for 14 months, not planning on stopping anytime soon!

  6. Breastfeeding was not easy for me with either of my girls. It started out really well both times but I ran into obstacles that ended up sabotaging me. I hope with determination, a lot of education & support to be able to breastfeed my next baby until we want to wean, not bc we have too! I'd love to nurse past 12 months but just making it longer then 7 months would be amazing!

  7. What helped me is getting out of the frame of mind that it's all or nothing. Every drop of that liquid gold counts & it's ok if you need to supplement with formula if absolutely necessary. I wish I had that frame of mind when my 1st daughter was born! But at least I understood it w/dd #2 and our brand new baby boy. Every drop is a breastfeeding sucess!!

  8. My secret is PATIENCE! Even though sometimes I don't have any, haha. When it hurts, when they're teething and they bite and it hurts worse, when they won't sleep... patience! Just breathe. I have to remind myself of that sometimes ;) I'm following and just put your button up! YAY!

  9. My secret is that I didn't put pressure on myself to BF, I just did the best I could, and took it one day at a time. I set small goals for myself, and allowed myself to reevaluate how I was feeling about BF/pumping each time I met my goals. By keeping it relaxed and on my own terms, it made it a lot easier to hang in there. Also, someone told me that if you can keep going on your WORST day-the day you are so exhausted you can't see straight, your boobs are raw and feel like you've had been given a titty-twister by the Incredible Hulk, and you're worried about how you're ever going to do this and keep up with your baby's demand for milk-if you push through that day, your worst day ever, you can and will BF as long as you want to! I BF and pumped while working FT for 14 months.

  10. My secret is believing in myself and never giving up even though I've had a lot of hard days. I am still exclusively breastfeeding and it's almost been 6 months.
I'm proud of myself and I'm proud of you too!

  11. Breastfeeding was really easy for me, I hardly had any problems except for a little pain on latching in the beginning but it was nothing that was worth quitting over. What worked best for me was having confidence in the fact that my body could and would produce milk and nourish M! We just reached the 6 month mark and we're still going strong.

  13. I have not breastfed before (although I have lactated...after the stillbirth of my daughter last year). But when I start breastfeeding (baby due any day now!), I think the key to keeping sane is: Grace. Having grace for myself, for my baby, those around me, and circumstances that arise. Maybe I'm too idealistic, eh? :P

  16. The secret to our success is water & babywearing & cosleeping. I have to drink a ton of water. No one told me that when I was trying to breastfeed my first and when I had supply problems well duh wasn't drinking enough. 2. babywearing is awesome because I can feed my son while walking around chasing my 2yo its awesome and 3. cosleeping, I get so much more sleep than when I was formula feeding my first son because I'm not mixing bottles inthe middle of the night we just switch sides latch on and I'm off to sleep.

  18. I don't have any baby to breastfeed now so I'm not taking part of this giveaway but I wanted to tell you how much I love it! It's a great thing that more mamas take a stand for breastfeeding. Way to go!!!

I had to pump for 3 months with my oldest DS because he was very ill when he was newborn. But at age 3 months we managed to start nursing and we kept on until he was 18 months. Youngest DS breastfed until he was 30 months old.

    Take care all mamas!
