My Story - M

So I know you want the scoop. No worries, you know I'll dish.

M and I were highschool sweethearts. Sort of. We dated, and then he broke up with me when he went into the military. He was 18, I was 15, so I still had more high school.

The next summer I had a ballet intensive in Chicago. Lo and behold!! M is stationed in Chicago. Saw him up there. It was magical.

We lost contact. I heard he had gotten married. Called his parents, found out it was true. I was 16. He was 19.

Fast forward. I'm on an internship in Florida for school, and he MySpaces me. I freaked. I was totally still in love with him. He was getting divorced. We got back together. I was 19. He was 22.

A year later we eloped in Vegas.

Wait, wait, back the truck up. We lived together for a year, I found out he had been cheating on me with my sister. For 9 months out of that year.

We still eloped in Vegas. What can I say. I was stupid.

M wants to have kids. I say no, not until I finish school. He says please. I say fine. A miscarriage, a preemie girl who grew angel wings and a total of 12 weeks in the hospital later, we had our baby boy. I was 22. He was 25.

We brought him home. M wanted nothing to do with him. I had no help. Two weeks after we brought him home from NICU I find out M has been having an affair during our 12 week hospital ordeal (Me on bed rest 6 weeks, E in NICU 6 weeks). I find out on MySpace, ironically.

I tell him I'm leaving. A few hours later, I tell him I want to work it out. For our son. He says no. He looks up flights for me. I pick one on Wednesday. He says, actually how about Tuesday. I say okay. I ask him if we can work it out on two more occasions before I left. He said no both times. So I left.

I now live with my mom, my step dad, my little brother, and my son in a 3 bedroom condo. It's nuts, but I'm so lucky to have them.

As of now, the divorce hasn't been filed. I have to wait to be a resident in this state for 3 months. That can't come soon enough.

I'm ready to move on.
